Special awards have been given to Cramlington residents as part of the Northumbria in Bloom competition.

Cramlington Town Council held an awards ceremony at its full council meeting on Thursday, to present awards to the Cramlington winners of the competition

Council chair, Coun Ann Mitcheson, presented a gold award to St Nicholas Church for Best Kept Grounds of a Religious Establishment to be Maintained by the Parishioners; silver gilt to The Blagdon Arms for Best Effort for Upkeep of External Premises by a Public House or Hotel; a silver to The Green for Best Effort for Upkeep of External Premises by a Public House or Hotel; gold to Mayfield Cemetery for Best Kept Grounds of a Religious Establishment to be Maintained by the Parishioners; a silver gilt to The Welcome Chapel for Best Kept Grounds of a Religious Establishment to be Maintained by the Parishioners, and a silver gilt to Jubilee Lodge.

Manor Walks won gold, and John the Clerk won a silver gilt for Best Effort for Upkeep of External Premises by a Public House or Hotel, but were unable to attend the night.
