A paralympic hero will be bringing a touch of Christmas cheer to Cramlington today (Thursday).
Gold medal hero Stephen Miller and special guests from the Newcastle Falcons will be switching on the town’s Christmas lights.
The event will begin at Town Square outside Concordia Leisure Centre at 4pm. Celebrations will then move into Manor Walks Shopping & Leisure for the centre’s official switch on at 5pm in centre mall.
There will also be a chance to meet Santa and his live reindeers at their stables in Sainsbury’s car park.
A Woodhorn lantern parade will take place with choirs from Eastlea Primary School and St Paul’s Roman Catholic Voluntary Aided First School.
Northburn Primary School’s Steel Pan Band will be performing and shoppers will have the chance to meet characters from the upcoming performance of Aladdin by the Blagdon Amateur Thespian Society.
