Top comedian Jason Manford is trying to track down a Northumberland man, who was kicked out of a Wetherspoon pub for wearing tracksuit bottoms, so he can join him on a TV show.

David Curry hit national headlines at the end of April when a member of staff at the The Wallaw Wetherspoon pub in Blyth asked him to leave because he was wearing Adidas tracksuit bottoms.

According to reports, a spokesman for Wetherspoon explained that the pub has operated a no tracksuit policy since opening towards the end of 2013, but did offer an apology to Mr Curry.

Earlier today, Jason Manford posted a link to the story on his Facebook page, saying: ‘Hey in trying to track down this guy, David Curry for a tv thing I’m doing. Want to show him my support! Anyone help? He’s from Northumberland!’

In a separate comment, he added: ‘We’d love to have some fun with him on Sunday night (I’m totally on his side and against Weatherspoons! He’d be my guest) email luke.shiach@itv.com.’
