TWO sewage pumping stations in Blyth are to be upgraded as part of a multi-million pound investment by Northumbrian Water.
The company’s contractor, C&A Pumps Ltd, will take up to four weeks to complete the work.
Project manager Hedley Young said: “The pumping stations, which transfer waste water to Blyth sewage treatment works, are located in Holystone Close and Chillingham Close.
“The £150,000 scheme will begin on Monday, March 7.
“Traffic associated with the improvement work will need to access the working areas.
“Residents should be reassured that, through careful planning, we will do all we can to keep disruption to a minimum.”
Employees from Northumbrian Water, or its contractor, will not require access into residents’ home at any time during the work.
Customers with any queries, now or during the work, should call Northumbrian Water on 0845 717 1100.
