Young athletes threw themselves into a host of physical activities and events during a school sports day.
Pupils in Years 3 to 6 at Bede Academy Primary in Blyth performed at their best in front of dozens of parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents.
There were also 28 sports leaders on hand from Bede Academy Secondary, supported by PE staff, running the event by organising the teams of children in hockey dribbling, soft javelin throwing, basketball, running and jumping tests.
The competition was rounded off by Year 5 and 6 relays, and races for parents.
After the activities, all the competitors were given fruit, water and a biscuit by staff from the local branch of Asda.
Younger children had taken part in their sports day events the day before.
Headteacher of Bede Primary Irene Watson said: “All the children look forward to sports day and it’s great to see them putting so much effort into the competitive activities.
“It was lovely to see so many family members coming along too to support the children and we’re grateful to Asda for the refreshments.”
