Victim left needing hospital treatment

A MAN was assaulted while walking along a footpath in Blyth.

The 30-year-old was attacked at 8.45pm on Monday, April 16, as he walked along the path between Dunkeld Avenue and Lapwing Close.

He was set upon by two men and left with a stomach injury.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries and later released.

Detective Inspector Jeff Brown said: “We’re carrying out inquiries to establish what has happened and would ask anyone who was in the area or may have any information to contact police.”
