Virtual technology was used by a care home in Cramlington to help residents recall some of their most cherished memories.

Scarbrough Court teamed up with local company Reminiscience earlier this month. Residents were invited to use special goggles alongside software, which allows the user to enjoy a virtual experience in different locations and helps increase social interaction by provoking conversations.

Its content is specific to the resident and care home.

Samantha Buxton, home manager at the RMBI care home, said: “Residents and staff were fascinated by the technology and the experience has been very beneficial for our residents’ well-being.”
