People with a few hours to spare are being sought to volunteer in a new shop and café opening at Blyth Community Hospital.
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is opening a facility in the main entrance of the hospital later this year and is appealing for people to come forward to help.
Volunteers would be required to carry out general shop and café tasks such as serving tea, coffee and snacks, operating the till, dealing with customers and replenishing stock.
The shop is scheduled to open in November and trade 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday.
Ian McMinn, non-executive director at the trust and chairman of the charitable funds committee, said: “We are pleased to be opening new premises at Blyth which will be the first time we’ve had such a facility in a community hospital.
“We are really keen to hear from people who have a few hours to spare and are interested in meeting people and helping out their local hospital.”
