Green-fingered residents have been bringing a touch of colour to Cramlington to honour those who sacrificed their lives in the First World War.
To mark the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the Great War, Cramlington in Bloom has created a centenary poppy design as part of a series of special floral arrangements in the town.
There is also a ‘Welcome to Cramlington’ sign on the Dudley Lane entrance and other tributes throughout the town.
This is the fifth year Cramlington has entered the competition.
In 2010 Cramlington won a Bronze Award, in 2011 a Silver, in 2012 a Silver Gilt and in 2013 another Silver Gilt.
The awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, September 16.
