IN regard to the letter ‘Is honesty really the best policy?’ (News Post Leader, March 8), I too was honest when I found a bag of money in Morrisons in Blyth, handed it in and when asked staff to take my address and phone number was told anybody else would just have walked away with it.
After five weeks with no word, I called in just to be told yes, someone had claimed it.
What was the point of leaving my address and phone number?
I did write to the manager to say I was not happy with my treatment.
So in my opinion, honesty appears to have disappeared with all the other values we used to hold.
