CAN any cyclist give me a reason why when there are perfectly good expensive cycle tracks they insist on using the road?
I refer to the tracks made from South Beach to Laverick Hall in Blyth and The Avenue Head road to Seaton Sluice.
Not using them causes the flow of traffic to slow right down and makes it dangerous for them and for us motorists.
Of course this is not the only place they do it as I see it all over the north.
More and more people are turning to cycling to work but don’t realise the danger they are in by not using cycle tracks.
Cyclists should be fined if riding on a road when a cycle track is available.
