Work on a new build for a Northumberland high school is gathering pace.

Building work has now started for the new Bedlingtonshire Community High School building.

And last week members of the senior leadership team along with the chair of governors were able to visit the site and see the progress first hand.

Assistant Head Jamie Bell said: “This is a very exciting time for Bedlingtonshire Community High School and being able to stand on the first floor of the new build gave us a real sense of how close we are to moving in.

“Students will be able to move to the new site in 2016 and we are sure it is a move our students will benefit greatly from.”
