HIGH school students are organising a charity afternoon as part of their lessons.
Pupils in Year 6 at Bedlingtonshire Junior High School have been learning about the charity Corpal in their RE lessons and are now planning to raise funds for it.
The Cambridgeshire-based charity supports parents and sufferers of a rare brain malformation called agenesis of the corpus callosum.
The pupils have been learning about it since meeting their RE teacher’s daughter, who was born with the condition.
Teacher Lisa Darbyshire said: “The children have been amazing.
“They were so compassionate when they met my daughter Ruby and also very motivated to help and make a difference.”
The event, a week tomorrow, will include a disco, raffle, Easter egg hunt and penalty shoot-out.
To donate to the pupils’ appeal, call Lisa at the school on (01670) 823084.
