Students at a Blyth school had something to smile about following a visit from staff at a local dental clinic.
Pupils at Malvern’s Close Primary Academy were visited by therapist Sarah Turnbull, foundation dentist Emma McNealy and dental nurse Laura Hadley, from Horizon Dental Clinic, Blyth, to promote National Smile Month.
The youngsters from Year 2 were advised how important it is to brush their teeth and shown the best way to do it.
They were also given advice on healthy eating and talked about good and bad foods to promote dental health.
Pupils took part in a competition to draw a picture or prepare some writing about dentistry, where three youngsters were declared as the lucky winners of A Trip to the Dentist book.
All the children were given a goody bag of helpful information and novelties.
