Primary school students were striking a pose on a recent outing.

Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils from Ringway, Mowbray and Stakeford primary schools visited Star Bowl in North Shields for a ten-pin bowling session, aiming for a perfect score.

The trip was organised by the Transition Youth Club, which is run by Bedlingtonshire Community High School youth transition worker Andy Allman.

The youngsters were split into four lanes as they took part in some bowling before having a chance to spend some time in the amusement arcade, and the ticket machine was kept busy as the students cashed them in.

After working up an appetite, the pupils, who are looking forward to their next trip, had to choose between McDonald’s and KFC at Killingworth Shopping Centre. The popular burger establishment won hands down.
