I write with reference to the article about Mayfield cemetery, (News Post Leader, February 25).
As one who has often complained about what has been happening (flooding, damage done to the grass area), this time I must stick up for Northumberland County Council.
After emails to various people, we agreed on the widening of the road area and installation of a drainage system. The county council has discussed this with myself and my wife, and we are quite happy that this is now complete.
The only thing that I do agree with is the installation of CCTV cameras.
This would show up the people who show no respect for the deceased and who allow their dogs to run over people’s graves and totally ignore the ‘dogs must be on a lead’ notice, then get annoyed when people see them allowing their dogs to run around.
