The Blyth Committee for Cancer Research UK (CRUK) would like to thank all of our dedicated supporters in helping us to raise funds to support cancer research.
This does not only include those who religiously attend our various events, but the many venues and entertainers who provide their services for free.
We would also like to thank those of you who donate to us in other ways and who hold events to raise money on our behalf. We cannot thank you all enough.
This year we have raised the magnificent sum of £15,000.
The money we raise goes a long way in helping to research new and innovative treatments and medication to overcome cancer.
We are very fortunate in the north east to have, based in Newcastle, one of the biggest and best research centres there is.
It is also good to know that the majority of the money raised by local committees, like ourselves, is spent in the north east, which makes all of the hard work we all put in worthwhile.
The Blyth committee was re-formed 54 years ago and our longest serving member will celebrate 53 years of service this year. That is real dedication.
We do intend to continue as long as we possibly can, but unfortunately, age is against us. We would therefore welcome any new faces who may be interested in either joining our committee or getting involved in some fundraising events with us, or on our behalf. If you are interested please contact CRUK and they will put you in touch with our area fundraising manager.
Our next event is a fashion show, which is being held on Wednesday, April 27, in the Masonic Hall, Beaconsfield Street, Blyth, at 7pm.
Everyone is welcome and you can pay at the door.
Once again, the Blyth committee would like to say a very big thank you to everyone for your past, and hopefully forthcoming, support.
