DEMOLITION: Shame to lose mural

editorial image

How disappointed I was to see the beautiful mural on the toilet block at Broadway, Blyth, celebrating the 2015 Tour of Britain cycle race coming through our town, being torn down on Tuesday, May 16.

Yes, the toilets were a white elephant, however I’m sure that with a bit of thought and planning the mural could have, and should have, been saved.

There are some pretty boring and ugly approaches into Blyth, namely the Link House Farm at the beach. It is about time that something was done with this site.

This mural made a welcome change and I, for one, believe that it was very pleasing to the eye.

I am sure that many other residents of Blyth will feel the same.
