EUROPE: Miss out the middle man

Lynda McKenna, of Angels for Europe, claims that Northumberland voted for Brexit, but doesn’t mind accepting EU money.

The fact is that the EU doesn’t have any money.

It takes in contributions from 28 countries, pays salaries, pensions and other vast expenses and costs, then redistributes what is left to the member states.

Now I am sure that the good people of Northumberland know this, but the Remainers are keeping up the same arguments they used during the referendum.

Unfortunately for them, most of us believed they were wrong then and believe they are wrong now.

But we have also learned is how our friends in Europe behave when they don’t get all their own way, which shows that Northumberland was right to vote the way it did.

The figures mentioned in the letter for funding given to the various projects around Blyth add up to less than £4m, yet we pay in £250m per week. That’s not a vast amount of money back for the amount we pay in.

Missing the middle man out will save us a lot of money that we can use for our own projects, farmers, the NHS, education and infrastructure.

It’s win-win for Britain.
