Recently we noticed, during the day, that only two people kept their dogs on a lead while taking them out on exercise.
We have no issue with the practice of dog walking, it is good for both owner and dog.
In many cases, people have a doggie bag to pick up the excrement left on the pavement.
Our problem is with the issue of the remaining residue, which is only inches away from the unfortunate house owners’ doorsteps and buildings.
Many a time, visitors are not aware from the pavement what they are stepping into and could be bringing infection and dirt into the house unwittingly.
We would ask most civilly that people keep their dogs on leads, preferably on the side of the pavement nearest to the road for obvious reasons.
After all, it is a law requirement.
We are sure that people visiting the area will not get a good opinion of cleanliness by local dog owners if they have to avoid areas while walking towards the beach.
