Youth fest is a success

Thousands of people have shown their support for a youthclub at their annual festival.

Young people and their families came along to Silx Youth Festival in Blyth, for the fifth annual event that showcases the work they do.

The festival was opened by comedian Kai Humphries from Punch Drunk Comedy, and including a range of activities including a Rodeo Bull, bouncy boxing, archery and displays from Millennium Martial Arts, Time Step dance and Bad Apples, as well as a visit from three superheros.

Jackie Long, senior youth worker at Silx Teen Bar who organised the event, said: “It was a fantastic turnout from the community to celebrate and support the Silx Youth Festival.”
