ASHINGTON Cricket Club dropped a place in the Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League Division A1 table after their derby match at home to Morpeth was called off due to constant morning drizzle.
Both sides consequently received five points each but further West, Tynedale's maximum haul of 20 points following their victory at Annfield Plain saw them leapfrog over the Colliers to take fourth place.

The top two sides in the division, Swalwell and Shotley Bridge were also left idle when their scheduled encounters at Ryton and Percy Main respectively were called off. However, Sacriston's win over Lintz saw them close the gap to four points on second placed Shotley who still trail Swalwell by ten points.

Ashington's first eleven now face consecutive away matches. On Saturday Paul Rutherford takes his side to Shotley Bridge before they face Percy Main at the St John's Road ground on Saturday week. *Ashington seconds match at Burnopfield was also abandoned at the weekend without a ball being bowled.
