THE Newbiggin Boxing Club had a fantastic weekend.
On Friday, Ryan Burt was in action in the 54kg Tyne Tees Wear Final, against S McAloon of Spennymoor.

He dominated the 1st round forcing a standing count.

In the second round he forced two standing counts, causing an automatic stoppage.

He m
oves on to the 1/4 finals at Barnsley on the 8th April.

On Sunday, Philip Longstaff was in action at the National Final against Jack Kerr of West Ham.

The fight was toe to toe for the first and second round, but during the second round the referee gave Philip two counts which force an automatic stoppage.

Although dissappointed, he is still rated 2nd in England.

On Thursday, Adam Harvey was in action at the Holiday Inn, Seaton Burn.

He boxed exactly as he was told and looked good in the contest, but was pipped on the score cards.

They were given fight of the night which proved the quality of the contest.

All the Newbiggin boxers are doing the club proud and we hope to continue with our successes.

Ryan is our next championship prospect and we will be looking forward to his progress.

The rest of our team are in action weekly and we are sure they will follow in our championship boxer's footsteps and promote Newbiggin Boxing Club.
