Ashington seconds moved up to joint third in the B1 division following Saturday’s victory over Percy Main at Langwell Crescent.

The home side were greatly indebted to a grafting unbeaten knock of 81, which included six boundaries, from right handed batsman Dale Ross in their total of 149-9.

In reply, Alex Storey led the bowling stakes with four wickets with Matty Potts taking three, James Lovat two and Steve Williams one.

Ashington now travel on Saturday to Durham where they will come face to face with Lanchester, the other team occupying third place in the league.
