Blyth first XI made the short journey to play neighbours Bates Cottages at Holywell and came away with their second win of the season.
The visitors had to make changes to the previous week’s side.
Skipper Lawrence was away at a wedding, while the previous weekend’s hero Chris Harwood had work commitments.
Bates batted first and Blyth soon got into their stride.
Thompson made the breakthrough when Puvis caught Doyle without scoring.
M Golightly and Birch put together a useful stand, however, before Blyth skipper Quinn brought on Dent in an inspired change.
He bowled Birch for 14 then sent Baston back to the pavillion without scoring.
D Robinson soon followed caught and bowled without scoring.
Andy Kemp, playing his first game of the season, got in on the act and got M Golightly out.
Singh soon got his first wicket when he trapped Elliott lbw for 12.
Kemp then got his third wicket when he had German caught by keeper Quinn for two.
Quinn was back in action again when he caught Teford off Singh for 17, and he finished off the innings when he trapped Dennis lbw for 15.
Blyth’s bowling figures were D Ebdale 0-25, K Thompson 1-18, D Dent 3-17, A Kemp 3-39 and S Singh 3-14.
Blyth began their reply with Dent and Roberts. However, the run chase did not go well.
Both were soon back in the pavillion. Dent for nine, caught by Baston off Cragg. Roberts was caught and bowled by Telford for seven.
Then Adam Puvis was back without scoring, bowled by Telford.
But Kemp and Rowell then put together a tremendous partnership to take Blyth to their winning total.
Kemp found the boundry at regular intervals and finished 76 not out while Rowell played a dogged knock to finish unbeaten on seven.
Bates bowling figures were M German 0-18, M Telford 2-24, D Cragg 1-20, G Dennis 0-14, R Elliott 0-30 and P Baston 0-12.
Bates Cottages 2 points, Blyth 30 points.
On Saturday Blyth are at home to Blue Flames with a 1pm start.
