Blyth’s first XI game at home against Berwick on Saturday was called off early morning due to the state of the ground.
Meanwhile, the second team suffered a six-wicket defeat at Berwick in a low scoring game.
On a very green wicket Blyth were asked to bat first and they struggled to get the ball away.
Only two batsmen reached double figures, Carr (11) and Thompson (15) as they were dismissed for only 54.
The pick of Berwick’s bowling was S Emery with 5-11 from ten overs.
J Thompson held the Berwick innings together against some superb bowling from Rory O’Connor, although he was lucky to survive a caught behind by young Ben Blackett.
Thompson batted through to guide the home side to 55-4 and he finished on 19 not out.
O’Connor took all four wickets to fall for 30 runs.
