Blyth seconds secured a 14 runs win at Hebburn on Saturday.
The visitors won the toss and decided to bat and opened with two players who had dropped down from the first team.
However, hey were both back in the pavilion with 15 on the board.
Carr and James Stewart put together a 37-run partnership for the fourth wicket before Stewart fell for 15.
Carr departed for 28 with the score on 71-6.
It was left to last pair Mark Stewart and Ossy Lawrence to add 35 for the last wicket as they saw out the final overs.
Stewart finished 18 not out and Lawrence 29 not out as Blyth totalled 121-9.
Hebburn began with a flourish from A Berry. However, Thompson struck in his second over.
The home side were racing to their target at nearly four an over, but James Stewart struck in the eighth over to get rid of Berry for 21.
Thompson took another wicket with the score on 59.
At half way, Hebburn had reached 86-4.
It seemed just a formality for them to secure the win, but with skipper Taylor having to retire when on 30 to take no further part in the game, Blyth seemed to get belief and came storming back.
Blyth brought Roberts into the attack with Hebburn needing just 21 to win, but Roberts bowled Blyth to a 14-run win.
He took four wickets from 4.4 overs for just two runs.
Brad Purvis also got in on the act with a wicket as well.
