Blyth Seconds were put in to bat on a soft wicket against Kirkley seconds.
They found runs hard to come by with the ball stopping.
At the halfway stage Blyth had just reached 47-4.
It took some big hitting from Leason, Blackett and Thompson to push the score along to 131-8.
Top run scores for Blyth were Gill 26, Leason 20, Thompson 20 not out and Blackett 15.
Kirkely had Chris Farrelly in fine form. He and Dave Clark got them off to a good start, putting on 51 for the first wicket before Clark was out.
But Kirkley skipper Brown and Farrelly saw the home side home with an 82-run partnership.
Farrelly was unbeaten on 66 with ten fours and Brown not out 41.
Thompson was the pick of the Blyth bowlers with only 20 runs coming off his ten overs. Connor Leason took the only wicket.
