Ebdale the star as Blyth get back to winning ways

Blyth Cricket Club got back to winning ways at Ashington Rugby CC thanks to an inspired bowling performance from David Ebdale.

The visitors won the toss and put the hosts into bat where opening bowlers Kemp and Ebdale ripped through the top order.

Ebdale had Adamson stumped by Quinn for five before trapping both Hardy (6) and Milburn (0) lbw.

The strike bowler than claimed his fourth and fifth scalps by bowling M Tanney for three and having Clark caught by Lawrence for two.

Andy Kemp then had Cory Milburn caught by Clark before Ebdale took his sixth wicket, bowling Tanney for six.

Singh and Dent wrapped up the innings, with Singh claiming two wickets to leave Ashington all out for 72.

The bowling figures were Ebdale 6-17, Kemp 1-21, Singh 2-4 and Dent 1-2.

In reply, Dent hit a quickfire eight before he was bowled by Cory Milburn, who also bowled fellow opener Harwood for five.

Clark and Lawrence steadied the ship before the latter was bowled by Milburn, with Cotterill (five not out) joining Clark (22 not out) to see Blyth home for 73-3.
