New Hartley Juniors played out a goalless draw at Shildon and then suffered a home defeat against Seaham in a week which saw two fixtures.

Third placed Shildon came closest to scoring when they hit the crossbar twice early in the second half and were then denied twice by outstanding saves from Hartley’s Tom Craney.

Seaham moved a step closer to the title when they travelled to Hartley and left with all three points thanks to a Josh Houghton strike in the first half.

Tonight (Thursday), New Hartley are at Benfield, aiming to avenge their cup final defeat to the Newcastle outfit earlier this month.
