An explosive start from champions

IT was a great start to the new year in the MB Socca Leagues last Thursday at The Hirst Welfare Centre.

Current first divsion champions Base FC started off in explosive manner and put ten past Sparta Hatbreath, who replied with a single consolation goal.

Runners-up Real Ashington were involved in a goal feast but had to settle for a 3-3 draw with Newbiggin Blaze.

The Biggin look good for their step up to the top flight as they won 3-0 against Multiple Scoregasms.

In the second division early leaders The Grand just edge it at the top of the pile as they registered a 6-1 win against newcomers The Doggers.

Station FC have six points as well but are two goals worse off as they won a tight encounter with Brazilliant 3-1.

Station Boys got their first points as they notched up a convincing 6-1 win against A Town Rangers.

The final game saw Ashington All Stars beat Bingo Wings 3-0.
