Ashington High School Sports College’s under-18s continued their quest for the league title after hitting the goals trail with an 8-2 victory over Whitley Bay High School at Green Lane.

The hosts went ahead after only two minutes when Luke Robinson was on target.

By half-time they had added another four to their tally inside a 20-minute period through Callum Johnston (2), Matthew Bone and Dan Costello.

After the break, Robinson grabbed his second to make it six before Tom Potter pulled one back for the visitors.

In the last ten minutes, striker Adam Bains found the net twice for the Wansbeck side with Sam Walton registering a second for the Seasiders.
