HISTORY was made as Ashington Ladies played their first FA Cup game at Woodhorn Lane.
Ashington, who won 7-0 at Prudhoe the previous week, found the going a lot tougher in the early stages of the first half as both teams had a couple of chances.
Eventually Ashington got on top and Laura Jobson scored a great individual goal as she dribbled past the keeper and shot in.
Second half Ashington began with a bang and Jobson rifled home from 20 yards.
Ten minutes later Karen Wright added a third following a good move form the edge of the box.
Ashington were on top and coasting with Ashleigh Betts, Jobson and Lauren Kavanagh all going close.
However, the visitors pulled one back and then with only five minutes remaining scored again with a long range effort.
Prudhoe looked for an equaliser but the home defence held firm.
Ashington will play at home against Redcar Athletic or Percy Main on Sunday, October 23, in the next round.
