Ashington RAOB through to NFA Sunday Cup semi-final

In the only Morpeth Sunday League division one game at the weekend, Bedlington Barrington Arms recorded a resounding 11-0 win over Morpeth Riverside.

Dylan Williamson was on target four times with braces from Calum Donohoe and Chris Dobey and further goals from Daniel Dargue, Chris Moffitt and David Scott.

In the NFA Sunday Cup, Ashington RAOB progressed to the semi-finals after overcoming fellow Morpeth Sunday League team Amble Tavern.

The Buffs picked up the win thanks to a 30-yard free kick from James Harmison and efforts from Anthony Watson and Craig Robinson.

In the ES Johnson Challenge Cup quarter-final, division two leaders North End Trap knocked out division one side The Wharton Arms with a 4-2 victory,

North End’s goals were scored by Kevin Bell (2), Ryan Chisholm and Marc Nixon, with Wharton’s replies from Joe Moscrop and Josie Bolam.

HMP Northumberland are through to the Reveley Cup final after they overcame The Elephant 2-1 in the second leg for a 6-2 aggregate win.

Goals from Dale Huggins and Stewart Shepherd secured the win with The Elephant response from Aaron Wright.

The competition’s other semi final between Morpeth Shambles and East Chevington was postponed and is finely poised with East Chevington holding a 2-1 advantage from the first leg.
