Ashington’s Vase tie at Shortwood postponed

The Gloucestershire-based side were due to hold a pitch inspection at lunchtime on Friday.

However, a mid-morning decision was made on Sunday’s fixture after heavy overnight snow left the pitch covered.

The forecast for the weekend was also not promising, with possible further snow falls and freezing temperatures.

The game has been rescheduled for the following weekend – Saturday, February 18, with a 3pm kick-off.

This will mean that weekend’s STL Northern League game at Bishop Auckland will have to be rescheduled also.

The Colliers were due to entertain Sunderland RCA at Woodhorn Lane next Wednesday, but this game has also been postponed to give them a free week before the Shortwood tie.
