Bankhouse put six past the leaders

THE MB Socca Leagues six-a-side night at Ashington’s Hirst Welfare Centre on Thursday saw division one leaders and last season’s champions Real Ashington caught up in an end to end epic which ended 4-3 to the champions in the end.

In the other league match, V&N Jewellers beat Bubbbles FC 6-1 while Station FC won 3-0 over The Whipping Boys.

Division two saw the shock result of the season so far as fourth placed Bankhouse went up against against top side Bayern Neverlusen, who were nine points clear at the top going into the game.

Once the referee blew his whistle the lads of Bankhouse began to turn on the skill.

They were first to every ball and finished superbly in front of goal, leaving Bayern dazzled by the top drawer performance as Bankhouse ran out 6-0 winners.

Second placed Ashington All-Stars lost their chance to capitalise on Bayern’s defeat as they lost 5-1 to Ashalona FC.

The final game saw ACE United beat Bedlington Top End FC 3-0.
