BEDLINGTON Juniors Under-15s won the North East Youth Division under-15s cup final 3-0 against Amble Juniors.

At Welfare Park, Bedlington started the brighter and had two headed efforts cleared off the line before deservedly taking the lead midway through the first half.

A left footed effort from Danny Troy was too strong for the goalkeeper and nestled in the corner of the net.

The remainder of the first half saw Bedlington play some superb football but they were unable to gain further reward.

The second half started with Amble pushing forward and were they unlucky when they had an effort strike the woodwork.

This scare galvanised Bedlington into action and it was no surprise when they doubled their advantage.

A surging run into the box by Jak Ditchburn resulted in an excellent cross which was turned in at the back post by Adam Jobson.

Ten minutes later these two players combined again to make it 3-0 and put the game beyond a spirited Amble side.

With the game now won Bedlington played some excellent passing football and ran out deserved winners with all members of the team giving outstanding contributions on the night.

This is the second successive season that this team have won their respective age group competition.
