Bedlington sides through to cup semi-finals

In the Morpeth Sunday League George Cave Cup quarter-finals, Bedlington Barrington Arms and The Wharton Arms defeated Ashington RAOB and Stobswood respectively.

Barrington Arms won 3-1 thanks to goals from Shaun Cowell, Dylan Williamson and Paul Dunn. ARAOB’s goal was scored by Mark Race.

A single goal was enough for The Wharton Arms with Andy Carr getting the all important goal, although he also missed a penalty.

In the sole division one game, Amble Tavern took another step towards the title as they defeated Riverside Lodge 7-1 with goals from Josh Hay (5) Matty Graham and Liam Brooks. Gary Scott was on target for Riverside.

In division two, Amble Blue Bell recorded a good 4-0 win over The Elephant thanks to a brace from Gary Taylor and efforts from Sam Jamieson and David Stobbart.
