New Hartley Juniors bounced back to winning ways with their best performance of the season in the 3-1 victory over second placed Darlington.
Hartley No.9 Adam Bains was the star of the first half as his double put his side two up at the interval with two great finishes.
Darlington never gave up, though, and put Hartley under pressure early in the second half.
But it was the home side that increased their lead when an Olly Ure corner was bundled home by Liam Wotherspoon to make it 3-0, and made it seven goals in seven games for the Hartley midfielder.
With only five minutes remaining Darlington pull one back through an own goal, but Hartley comfortably saw the game out for the three points.
New Hartley are next in action on Saturday with another home game against Prudhoe Town in the league with a 1.30pm kick-off.
