Blyth School beat under strength Guide Post

THE Blyth School Under-13s beat Guide Post Middle in an entertaining match.

Guide Post were forced to field a weakened team with an number of regulars unavailable, with a contingent of under-12s making the step up.

Blyth had to make their own change, placing regular striker Matthew Green into the goalkeeper position as their regular number one was injured.

In good conditions Blyth held a 6-0 lead by half-time with goals from Jamie McDonnell, Liam McKee (2), Ainsley Foster, Michael Jobson and an own goal.

In the second half Shurn Hall made his debut and capped a fine performance with a goal and could have had more if not for a strong display from the Guide Post goalkeeper.

McDonnell got his second and with a few minutes to go Kofi Park completed the scoring.

Man of the match was Hall for an impressive debut and contribution in the second half.

The Blyth School: M Green, J Young, M Grey, J McDonnell, L Henderson, M Jobson, A Foster, K McLean, K Park, J Wright, L McKee, S Hall, A Beattie, M Sharples, J Mellon.
