Blyth Spartans draw Birmingham City in FA Cup third round

Blyth Spartans have drawn Birmingham City in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League outfit will host the Championship side on the weekend of January 2 to 4.

Drawn in Hull and show live on the BBC, Spartans had manager Tom Wade and scorer of the first goal against Hartlepool United, Stephen Turnbull in the audience.

The other north east non league team in the draw, Gateshead were drawn away to Premier League West Bromwich Albion.

Meanwhile the region’s Premier League two, Sunderland and Newcastle United, will play Leeds United and Leicester City respectively, with the Black Cats at home and the Magpies away.
