Blyth Town Sunday put ten past Residents

In the Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League section of the David Crichton Memorial Cup, three quarter-finals were played at the weekend.

Through to the semi-finals are Ashington RAOB, High Street and Blyth Town Sunday.

The Buffs beat visitors Whitehouse 4-3 with Josh Robinson (2), Shaun Gibson and Mathew Bone the scorers. Luke Chisholm, Michael Angus and Robert Watt replied for Whitehouse.

High Street won 5-1 at home against Ashington Station Lounge. Anthony Goldie led the scoring with a hat-trick with Brandam Nadeem and Eoin Ridley also on target. John Leonard scored Lounge’s consolation.

Marden Residents were no match for Blyth Town Sunday going down 10-1 at home. Ashley Cole scored for Residents, but strikes from Robert Ridley (3), Martyn Hepple (2), Peter Roberts, Paul Cotterill, Daniel Wilson, Liam Gillesphey and Daniel Carr won it.

The fourth quarter-final is tonight when Bedlington Social United play Amble Tavern, while Ashington RAOB will be at to High Street in the first semi-final. The second semi-final will be played on Thursday, August 17.
