Blyth & Wansbeck League’s Broomhil North End Trap go out of NFA Sunday Minor Cup

The Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck League’s Broomhill North End Trap were well beaten in the NFA Sunday Minor Cup by Blyth South Beach Pub 8-0,

Marden Residents also went out of the competition when they went down 6-0 to Benwell Sports Bar 6-0.

In the premier division, Cramlington Green finally found some form to beat Ashington Town Central 6-0. Green had three players scoring two each, Jake Larmouth, John Wilson and Michael Jordan.

Newsham Victory went down at home 6-2 against Earsdon Red Lion with David Lillico scoring both their goals.

On target for Red Lion were Ryan Walton (2), Michael Butcher, Micheal Renney, Ryan Walker and Tony Browell.

The big match of the day saw Ashington RAOB and Amble Tavern draw 2-2.

Gary Bailes and Ben Harmison scored for the Buffs while Ethan Iredale and Josh Hay both scored equalisers for Tavern.

Division one saw North Shields Pineapple win 5-3 at Guide Post Shakespeare Tavern. Jamie Irving, Ethan Page and Daryl Gibson scored for Tavern, but goals from Chris English (3), Lee Dennis and Karl King won it for Pineapple.

High Street had a comfortable 8-1 win at home to Ashington Sporting Club, who had Robert Watt scoring their consolation goal.

On target for High Street were Anthony Goldie (3), Brandon Nadeem (2) Chris Laidlaw (2) and Sean Pickering.
