Burradon retain their title with an emphatic win

IN the Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League premier division, Burradon and New Fordley retained their title with a 4-1 victory away to the Eagle.

Scoring for the hosts was Andrew Howe while the league champions’ scorers were Michael Chilton (2), Cameron Patrick and Graham Cairns.

Division one saw a rare defeat for league champions The Albert, going down 2-0 to High Street thanks to goals from Alan Fairbairn and Anthony Goldie.

Milbourne Arms went down 4-0 to form team Monkseaton Arms. On target for the Monkseaton side was Mark Allen and Antony Brannon with two each.

The only game in division two was an Ashington derby between the White House and Fox Cover.

White House, who are safe in fourth position, went down 3-0 with goals from Dean Mason, Steven Gardener and Kris Allington.
