BURRADON and New Fordley reached the final of the NFA Sunday Cup with a 5-2 away win at Haltwhistle CC.
Meanwhile both cup fixtures in the Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League scheduled for the weekend were called off.
Division one, saw last week’s winners of the Saints Shield go down to a surprise defeat against Blyth Comrades, with Daniel Carr leading the scoring with a hat-trick while Daniel Long added another two and Michael Meins completed the scoring.
In the Ashington derby between Bubbles and the Grand it finished all square 1-1. Bubbles’ leading scorer Kris Allington got their goal while Paul Hedley replied for the Grand with a penalty.
Division two saw Blyth Top House return to form after their shock defeat last week. They won 2-1 at home against Lynemouth Institute. On target for Top House was Jake Miller and Andrew Davison. Thomas Brotherton scored Institute’s consolation.
Newsham Willow Tree went down at home 3-1 against Cramlington Phoenix, who managed to score all four goals. Goals at the right end for Phoenix came from Dean Devlin, Paul Neilson and Chris Frazer.
