Ashington Woodhorn Lane Ladies crashed out the FA Cup after a depleted side lost 6-0 against North Regional premier league side Whitley Bay at Hillheads on Sunday.

In the morning of the game, leading scorer Karen Wright, Sarah Grahamslaw and Leah Montgomery all cried off through sickness and injury ruled out Jess Jenkinson, leaving only 11 players for the match.

Debuts handed to Carly Bell and Laura Gunn.

Ord, Duggan and Shields netted for Bay, putting them 3-0 up at the break, and further goals by Ord and Preston (2) made the final tally six.

Visiting stopper Jade Gibbs pulled off some great saves to keep the scoring down as Ashington never gave up and battled to the end.
