Double success for Ashington Town Warriors U10 girls

Ashington Town Warriors U10 girls finished their season on a high with a league and tournament win, which they took part in the U11s category.

The club, formerly known as Phoenix FC is growing.

They have started new teams – Ashington Arrows U7 girls and Ashington Town Jets U7 boys.

And such was the response to training for three to five-year-olds, named the Rugrats, they now we have three new teams.

Training for girls and boys aged between three and six is at the Josephine Butler Campus every Tuesday from 6pm to 7pm while Warriors’ training is a Thursday from 6pm to 7pm.

The club are looking for girls aged from seven to 11 to join the Warriors and Arrows teams

The club has received the award for the best chartered club in the north east and Lisa Metcalf, owner of Rockcliff MOT and Service Centre in North Shields, has sponsored the Warriors.

Lisa said it is great to be a part of girls’ football and is delighted at how well they have done this season.
