THERE was a rare goalless draw in the MB Socca Leagues division one meeting between current champions Base FC and Spart Hatbreath at the Hirst Centre on Thursday night.
The game had action galore but no one could find the net.
Real Ashington and Multiple Scoregasms played a friendly but as the game went on it was plain to see the word friendly was not in anyone’s vocabularly as a tough game was fought out with Real winning.
Old foes North Seaton Elephant took on St ella twice, and in the first game St ella lead 1-0 at the break but North Seaton came out of the blocks fast in the second half and Dave Mole’s side pulled it back to eventually win 3-1.
They then had to do it all over again, but it was not so close this time as North Seaton won 8-1.
Division two is the closest MB Socca has ever seen it but this week as Station Boys stretched their lead at the top with a superb performance over A-Town Rangers.
They ran A-Town ragged and finished up winning 11-1.
Second placed Station FC only managed a 0-0 draw with Brazilliant, so the chance was their for Whipping Boys to take second spot.
They took it without a thought as they put on a magnificent display against Chandler’s The Doggers and won 4-2 in the end.
Ashington All-Stars beat Not In Service 3-0 in the final game of the night.
It is five weeks to the new season and there are three places available. Teams interested in joining the league should call Chris on 07921 620308, Graham on 07891 321753, or go to www.mbsoccaleagues.co.uk for more information.
