THE quarter-finals of the David Crichton Memorial Cup took place with all sides vying for a place in the final to represent the Standard Security Blyth and Wansbeck League against the winners of the Cramlington Sunday League section.
Ashington Mortimer, Burradon and New Fordley, Ashington Grand and Whitley Bay Seahorse all booked their places in the league semi-finals.
Mortimer eased past Milbournes Arms 5-1.
Burradon had an easier passage when they scored seven without reply at home against Cowpen Percy Arms.
North Shields Gunner found Ashington Grand another side with their shooting boots on, as they went down 6-0.
Blyth South Beach put up a good fight before going down 4-1 away to Whitley Bay Seahorse Athletic.
