Ashington FC have been rocked by the news that Glen Taylor has rejoined Spennymoor Town.

The Sunderland-based striker, who finished last season as top scorer with a haul of 25 goals, put pen to paper on a two-year contract on Monday night.

The deal sees the tall forward, who originally moved to Woodhorn Lane from Spennymoor a couple of years ago, link up once again with Brewery Field boss Jason Ainsley.

Taylor, a former student at Ashington High School Sports College, has also played for Whitley Bay and Blyth Spartans.

During his time with the Seahorses, Taylor was cup tied as the club won the FA Vase but was still included in the squad which enabled him to walk out on the hallowed turf at Wembley.
